Reality Check

In this journey in our lives, we met people, a bunch of people. Some were genuinely true and some were trashy false wearing their masks. Some of them left, some stayed. But in those who stayed you can never tell who will be there to stand at your side and waiting to back you up when things come worst to worst. And those are the PRECIOUS GEMS you’ve got to keep. They are rare. Uniquely made, but still not perfect. These gems are what you called FRIENDS. I am lucky that in this world where nothing seems real, I have collected four remarkable gems. Conde. Clea. Bea. Marel.

I recall, a prof of us once said, “If you are feeling so bad… upset or depress or what so ever, don’t go to people who will comfort you.” Some of us say that our friends are our comforters, but I say not all the time. Friends are those who will lift you up when you are down and will pull you down and you’ve stocked a lot of air in your head. Friends will tell you how pretty you are when you glam up and will tell you how awful you look when you tried too much and ended up being a wannabe. Friends will tell you words of encouragement in times you needed it and will tell you words that would slap your face when you’re going way too much and hurting somebody. My gems did this to me and I to them.

In this time that I am facing a not so good time alone, they’ve been with me despite of the distance and time. At the start I feel so awkward talking about it coz I know they would not understand, I thought no one outside of my family would understand. I still give it a try. As I was narrating what happened to each of them, they were just there sitting beside me, looking at me, listening. Never did I hear words of judgment and criticisms. They tried to understand and give words of advice. They never been through what I had, but they listened. They told me where I was wrong. But never did they tell I was way too much and acting like a bastard (though I know I am). If there are people who can tell me bad words that I deserve, it would be them, because they knew what happened, every detail. They don’t judge by simply reading the title or the cover, they read every page, every chapter and then after they criticize. That’s what I need and they’re all I need, true friends that offers friendships.

I was reminiscing in all the things I’ve been through with them; I realized we’ve been so true with each other. We’ve criticized each other a lot. We’ve talked about almost everything. We’ve even said words that are ridiculously not appropriate in front of each other but yet we don’t mind. I never regret that I met them. Never…

Conde. Though I’ve been bullying her, she still remains the person I knew. Some who does not mind;
who never keeps hatred inside. I love bullying her. Peace out.

Clea. Silent and deep just like the ocean. With her I am much relaxed.

Bea. Stubborn, tough and mean. That what she is and I love her for being that.

Marel. Childish yet dependable. Ever since she’s been there for me. She’s like my other half.
